Why should I become a member of NECA NSW?
NECA NSW is the only national association supporting electrical and communications contractors in Australia. NECA provides a voice to government, employee unions and other associations for the electrical and communications contracting industry. Benefits of NECA membership range from access to advice on industrial relations, commercial and business, Occupational Health and Safety, technical and licensing support, discounts on training, fuel, Mitsubishi vehicles, and insurance. How much does it cost to become a member of NECA NSW?
Membership is company-based and fees are set according to the number of technical employees. New members must pay their pro rata membership fee in full by cheque or credit card. Existing members can choose to pay their renewal in full or in six instalments. Click here for Financial Year 2010-11 fees and to download an application form.

How do I update my contact details if I am already a member?
Updating your contact details is easy.
Download the Change of Address Form (19 KB) and fax back to NECA on (02) 9744 1830.

What kind of Training Programs does NECA offer?
NECA provides members with discounts on technical training, business training, OH&S training and first aid courses.

What is CPD and how can NECA help with gaining points?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. From 1 July 2005 all those holding an electrical contractors licence or a nominated supervisor licence for an electrical contracting company will be required to collect 100 CPD points over the three year period leading up to licence renewal, with a minimum of 25 points per year. What kind of insurance do I need?
The kind of insurance electrical contractors need varies depending on the nature of the work being undertaken. Public liability insurance is recommended for all electrical contractors, professional indemnity insurance is recommended for anyone undertaking work that includes a design aspect, and home warranty insurance may be required by those undertaking large domestic contracts. NECA provides members with access to advice and discounts on all insurance needs. Click here for more information.

What are the current wage rates?
NECA provides members with current wage rates. If you are already a member of NECA log into the members only area using the bar on the right and download the current wage rates.

What are the recommended charge-out rates?

How do I find a qualified electrician I can trust?
All NECA members employ licensed electricians and are kept up-to-date with changes to standards and legislation. Click here to search for a NECA member in your area.

How can I get an apprentice or register for an apprenticeship?
NECA Group Training provides electrical and refrigeration apprentices to contractors. Click here for more information.

What do I do if I need to employ or terminate an employee?

What is an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) and how do I get one?

Is NECA an Approved Security Organisation for Master Security licences?
