Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
Chapter 2 of the NSW OHS Regulation 2001 imposes obligations on the employer to identify hazards and access the level of risk associated with those hazards in the workplace.
To assist members with the risk assessment process, NECA has designed a basic hazard identification and risk assessment form specific to the electrical contracting industry.
Generally, it is expected that you will work to Safe Work Method Statements (see SWMSs) for both construction and service work. The HRA identifies the specific requirements for the job and confirms suitability of the SWMS/s. Combined they effectively identify the safe system of work for that task.
The HRA should be prepared prior to commencement and updated or revised as work conditions and safety issues change.
