Our Employee Relations department offers members access to a wealth of advice, information and documentation on a variety of employee relations and HR matters.

We can help you:

Telephone/Email Enquiries

  • Take advantage of instant information regarding a range of employment issues, including up-to-date wage rates for employees as well as general human resources advice regarding matters such as termination of employment

  • Gain access to a range of documents to assist with all of your human resources requirements

Agreement Making

  • Streamline your employment practices by tailoring an Enterprise Agreement to suit the needs of both your business and your employees. In practice a lot of employers stray away from the Award and do not realise the dangers of such action. An Enterprise Agreement will legitimise those areas where your business has already strayed away from the Award and provide you with peace of mind

Prepare/Review Employment Contracts and Legal Documentation

  • Review your current and future employment contracts, policy documentation and other employee legal documentation

  • Draft new or amend existing documentation to ensure compliance with current legislative requirements

Independent Contractor Assessments

  •  Avoid “sham” contracting arrangements – get help in assessing the legitimacy of your ABN workers or other subcontractors and any obligations to them

Payroll Assessments

  • Identify whether you are meeting your employment obligations, such as wage rates, allowances and superannuation, and practical guidance on the best solutions to any problems

  • Advise on areas such as long service leave, annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, payments upon termination and workers compensation to ensure that you are meeting your obligations

National Code of Practice Assessment

  • Become engaged on Federal Government-Funded projects by meeting complicated eligibility criteria related to the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry (‘the Code’) and the Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry (‘the Guidelines’)

  • Our assessment looks at the following areas:

    • Employment relationships

    • On-site behavioural issues

    • Contractual relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

  • We can assess your company and advise you whether you are ready to tender for such projects, and if not, guide you to becoming compliant with the Code and Guidelines.

Please note some Employee Relations services carry additional costs.
