NECA Training


NECA Training’s objective is to provide cost-effective training that is industry specific and cost effective for all electricians.
We offer training in a wide range of areas to ensure the skills and awareness levels within the industry are not only maintained, but also enhanced.
NECA Training is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering a wide range of training courses including Design/Install Grid Connect Photovoltaic Systems, EcoSmart, Wiring Rules Refresher, Contracts Administration/Debt Recovery, NECASafe and a range of courses dealing in Industrial Relations.
We also have partnerships in place with other training providers to extend our range of training courses to include Communications, Work Health & Safety, Accredited Service Provider Training & First Aid. All our advertised courses offer NECA members a discount on their training.
The availability of training in our industry is varied. If there is an area of training you require or need sourced, please contact NECA Training and we will help with your enquiry. This is especially applicable to NECA’s regional members.

Training Courses
COURSE IN ELECTRICAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY – EcoSmart Electrician

EcoSmart Electricians is an innovative program comprising of a national training and accreditation program for electricians in the rapidly growing market of energy efficiency. The training is open to all Registered Electrical Contracting businesses Australia wide.
In 2012 the training program was reviewed and updated to include new technologies such as lighting controls and energy management systems and the rapidly evolving LED technology market. It is now delivered under the training package as a course in Electrical Energy Efficiency 21876VIC.
The course comprises 3 mandatory modules:
• VPAU283 Advise on electrical energy management
• VPAU284 Implement energy efficient electrical systems
• VU20393 Apply energy efficient LED lighting principles
The training course has been registered on the National Training and Information Service (NTIS) and successful participants are issued with certificate from an RTO and an EcoSmart Electricians certificate.
Following, training contractors can apply for accreditation as an EcoSmart Electrician.
Be recognised
An accreditation system for contractors recognizes the contractor and enables them to promote their knowledge and training as a unique selling point to their customers - Promoting their business as EcoSmart Electricians.
Pre-requisite: Must be a licensed A Grade Electrician
Course Structure: Online + 1 day of face to face practical training
